Install any custom GSI rom on any device as dualboot rom

Hey what up guys DSU LOADER is awesome implementation by Google to test generic system images that Google going to release new Android versions which can be loaded over the existing OS , with the single reboot we can go back to stock rom.Its only available in Android 10+ roms via developers setting there we gets DSU LOADER option, but that setting will load only compatible gsi packages available for your device when we tap on it , it will gets downloaded and flashed. But developers like phh has developed phh treble gsi rom using these images which are bootabale and working on lots of devices but to install them we need to follow tedious fastboot flashable or twrp flashable installation process which also wipes system, that I created in lots of YT videos. But now the new all DSU sideloader is available where we can load any gsi img, xz or gz file and test it , instead of that we can set specific userdata size for such images and use them as dualboot rom with your stock rom or custom. This will work without root but it will work properly with root acess. It's compatible for any device having Android 10+ and dsu loader dynamic system partition. In this blogpost I will tell , how you can use this app and how it's useful to dual boot any gsi

Requirement:
1)You need bootloader unlocked with Android 10+

2)Your device must have dynamic system partation(super partation) To check use following app

DOWNLOAD TREBLE CHECK APP

3)Root is recommended but you can use it without root access. However, in its current state, end-users need to run a shell script via ADB on non-rooted devices to invoke the DSU installation.

So first download the app DSU side LOADER install the app when you first time opens it will ask for root permission latest magisk 23+ version is recommended.

Download the DSU sideloader app:

DOWNLOAD

After that it will ask for  storage setup ,it will open your stock file browser there we need to tap create new folder.
Now ur temporary booted gsi will have this pecific folder to operate.

Now in the app we gets first option select gsi file to be installed from here we can load any img, xz or gz files no need to unzip them.
So here first I selected dot os Android 11 based gsi file for testing.
Now second tab is for selecting userdata size.
Default gsi size is 2GB we can untick that and can set any userdata size we want as per your storage size.
last is gsi file size keep this as auto it's recommended to don'ts change it.

In the preferences setting there is tab opration mode showing which flashing method we are using, root method or with normal method. Root has higher chances,That it will boot and works properly as compared to non root method.
Also there is default userdata size setting to change it from 2 gb to anything we want.

So all has been setted up now if we tap install GSI viA DSU now installation of gsi starts but if we used img file, app will again compress it to gzip format so it will take time upto 2 min .once compression has been done installation starts and it's progress has been shown in statusbar notifications.

Once it gets completed we gets notifications as dynamic system is ready reboot the system.

If we want to avoid just tap discard or just tap restart. So that's it I flashed dot os Android 11 gsi and it's started to boot after few minutes. All things will work in the rom even we booted it via DSU loader application if that gsi is compatible with your device. No difference at all as compared to full installed gsi build.

There is notification available in statusbar to switch to our stock rom so here I taped restart and my phone booted to stock oxygen os A16 , with all my data and apps intact nothing changed.

So in this way we can switch between two different roms one is stock and another is treble gsi image with single tap.
So again tried switch to DOT OS by just restarting the phone and I booted to dot os 5.2 as it is  with all apps and data we setted up.

Now instead of dot os if we want to install another rom first tap discard in notifications panel and repeat the same installation process written previously so  I again flased crdroid Android 11 phh treble gsi.
And it's also booted fine and having all things working as I tested.
If we just want to go to stock rom Just restart or reboot the phone using power button also.

So both are Android 11 roms so I tested linage OS 19 Android 12 gsi file installation and surprisingly it's also booted no issues at all.

The only issue I found is that even I setted user data higher than 2gb it's not got changed on any roms it's remained same 2gb.
But still this is innovative  way to boot gsi without tedious fastboot and twrp image installation process and wiping whole system.
Now we can easily test any gsi on device if you don't like we need to just restart the device and you went backs to your stock rom.
It's also innovative way to use non rooted gsi as dualboot rom and we can run all banking apps on it with safety net pass.

So that's it for today guys if I helped you please like and share this post if you want review video of this mod link is below check it out.
